Value For Money
Coming in 3rd of our top three for value for money, the LYN Tube Tent is an easy choice for budget-conscious campers.
With this tent, you’re mostly paying for a warm and dry place to shelter in during an emergency, and that’s what you’ll get.

How did we test this metric?
This metric was tested qualitatively. We gathered a pool of testers and gave them a budget to work with. When asked to determine which budget bug out tent met expectations, the LYN Tube Tent came out as a clear winner over most of the competition.
Ease Of Use
The LYN Tube Tent takes our top position for ease of use alongside a few other very worthy candidates in our Top 10.
To set up, just run a paracord into the tent along its ridgeline, secure both ends to a tree on opposite ends.
Make sure you stake down the four corners, and you’re good to go!

While it may not be as versatile in configuration as the UST Tube Tarp there are several ways that the LYN can come in handy.
For example, you can use it as a ground tarp when fixing a car or in place of a picnic blanket, to keep dirt away.
It can also be used as an emergency blanket and survival shelter to prevent hypothermia.
Overall, this is a simple tent with many uses.
Weather Resistance
The LYN Tube Tent emergency cover is a great cold weather survival shelter as well as being waterproof.
This is due in a large part to the tent’s material.
At a glance the outer layer resembles a tarpaulin with a waxed surface.
This non-woven nylon material adds to durability and tent resistance.

But wait, here’s the bonus:
The LYN Tube tent is also aCPAI-84 certified survival shelter, meaning it passes all flame-resistant specs required of camping tents.
As it’s flame-resistant, you can be sure that it’ll win out against any weather-related heat as well!
Durability
Taking out the top spot for durability is none other than the LYN Tube Tent - a TopNotch great product.
We measured durability through a series of stretch tests, rain tests, wind tests and snowfall tests.
Each test lasted an hour, or until breaking point.
We repeated these tests until the tent could take no more.

But don’t forget...
Durability can also be attributed to handling and care too.
To enhance durability, you can coat the outer layer in a silicone spray to create a waterproof surface.
Remember to wipe down the inner and outer surface of your tent before packing away in a dry place.
When you take care of your emergency tent, it will take care of you when you most need it
Pack Size
With its thick tough material, and length to fit a six foot man, the LYN doesn't pack down as small and compact as the Back 40 Emergency Tent or our Bearhard either.
To be fair…
This insulated survival shelter is not the largest, bulkiest survival tent on the market or our Top 10 either.

It sits comfortably mid-way between being small enough to throw into a backpack with ease and being large enough to use as an emergency blanket.
That’s why we gave it a fair 8.5 in this metric.
Our Final Verdict: LYN Tube Tent
The thing that’s most appealing about this emergency cover is that it’s an honest product.
By that I mean, at first glance you have an expectation that matches the asking price and it delivers.
You get what you pay for in a great little package.
After several rounds of testing against different metrics, the LYN Tube Tent held its own against other big brand names and more expensive options.
This emergency cover consistently ranked average to high on value for money, ease of use, weather resistance, durability and packed size
While condensation will be the major drawback in its overall performance, it’s a small price to pay to increase your overall first aid and survival repertoire.
Conclusion: LYN Tube Tent
And there you have it…..
We’ve shown you what makes the LYN tent unique, like it’s dual zippers and non-woven waterproof outer surface.
And we’ve also shown why it should be included in your survival gear alongside fire-starting materials and your first aid kit.
And don’t forget that this emergency survival shelter is easy to set up and is made of pretty stiff material meaning it won’t flap about a lot in the wind while you set it up.
And you also understand some of our tests the LYN tent was put through - to bag the coveted position of TopNotch Best Value.
But that’s not all…
I’m sure - just like us - you were glad to find this survival shelter passed CPAI-84 certification, insulates heat super well and can also be used even in heavy snowfall.
Now that you have all this at your fingertips, we’ll put the ball in your court to decide which tough cookie is the emergency cover for you.
Happy camping!
